A Time to Be Grateful!
Last night the doctors said the EEG was showing signs of seizure activity...not a good thing! They suspicioned it was from brain swelling, but if it wasn't, there were some serious problems. Today it apprears it was from the swelling! Thank goodness! Liam looks much better and things seem to be going up after the emotional crash last night!

Moved to Post Op
Liam was moved to Post Op today out of the PIC-U. He is still very swollen and has a big black eye. He is breathing on his own and is awake off and on, but does a lot of whimpering because he doesn't feel very good. They can't hold him yet. That has to be hard!

Day After Surgery
The doctors continue to say Liam is doing well and looking just how he needs to look. Basically, his whole body is puffed up like a balloon. He doesn't even look like the same little baby. They are told that the swelling should gradually go down today as his body absorbs the swelling through body functions, such as uran. By tonight they should be able to see some improvement there.
Liam's right temporal lobe was removed. He is sedated and has a feeding tube. He is in the PIC-U (Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit). They will probably take him out of there tomorrow as things continue to improve.
They said it is hard to see him in this condition and they look forward to seeing him improve, but things are going as well as expected, for which everyone is grateful!
